Equipo Veterinario: la “CAMPAÑA DE DIAGNÓSTICO DE ENFERMEDADES
TRANSMITIDAS POR MOSQUITOS Y GARRAPATAS”.
En esta campaña, que estará
vigente durante los meses de Noviembre y Diciembre de 2.012, nos vamos a
centrar en el diagnóstico precoz de las enfermedades transmitidas
por garrapatas y mosquitos, en concreto:
- Leishmaniosis (enfermedad del mosquito)
- Ehrlichiosis
- Anaplasmosis
- Borreliosis
- Filariosis (enfermedad del gusano del corazón)
Si usted cree que su perro ha estado
expuesto a las picaduras de mosquitos y/o garrapatas este
pasado verano, es posible que se haya contagiado de algunas de estas
enfermedades, y el diagnóstico precoz es fundamental para un
tratamiento exitoso. Realizando el diagnóstico a tiempo, aún antes
de que aparezcan los síntomas clínicos de la enfermedad, podremos
instaurar el tratamiento adecuado a la mayor brevedad y con
las mayores garantías de éxito.
Si, afortunadamente, su perro esta
libre de estas infecciones, le asesoraremos sobre cómo prevenirlas
mejor en el futuro.
Durante la consulta, realizaremos
una exploración completa de su perro, aclararemos cualquier
duda que usted tenga y, posteriormente, haremos una extracción
de sangre, y con esta sangre haremos un test serológico en la
propia clínica que nos permitirá saber, en tan sólo 15
minutos, si su perro está libre de estas infecciones. También le
ofrecemos la opción de hacer un chequeo general de sangre para hacer un control de la salud general de su perro, en concreto,
valorar la función de hígado y riñones, niveles de azúcar y
proteínas, recuentos de las células sanguíneas, para valorar
anemias, infecciones, problemas de coagulación.

Means of Diagnosis for Diseases Transmitted by Mosquitoes & Ticks
The long hot summer, which brings with it many mosquitoes & ticks as well as other bugs, has now come to an end, therefore with this in mind we have started a new approach designed by the veterinary Team here at Clinica Tamara to diagnose any diseases transmitted by the above mentioned parasites.
The new method, which will take place during the months of November and December 2012, will focus on the early diagnosis of any diseases transmitted by mosquitoes & ticks and other bugs, in particular:
- Leishmaniosis (A disease brought about by the Sand Fly)
- Ehrlichiosis
- Anaplasmosis
- Lyme disease
- Filariasis, also known as Heartworm disease.
If you believe that your dog has been exposed to any mosquito bites orha d any ticks this past summer, it is possible that they may have been infected by some of these diseases. Early diagnosis is essential for successful treatment, therefore by making the correct diagnosis on time, even before the clinical symptoms of the disease appear, we will be able to establish the correct treatment as soon as possible, enabling a higher success rate for curing any of the above mentioned diseases.
If fortunately your dog is free of any of these infections, we can still advise you on how best to prevent them from occurring in the future.
During the consultation, we will carry out a full scan of your dog, clarify
any questions you may have, and then take a blood sample which will enable us to carry out a serological test in the clinic, therefore allowing us to know if your
dog is free of any of these infections in only 15 minutes. We can also give you the option of carrying out an overall blood test to make sure that your dog’s health is at its peak and in particular, assess the working order of the liver and kidneys, check sugar and protein levels, blood cell counts and assess any problems with
anemia, infections or blood clotting.
